Significant Projects

RDR 7000 (2019)
RDR 7000 is a new radar from Honeywell. I have contributed to the control design and implementation with MBD and autocode and Model Based Certification according to DO 331 of the radar.

COMAC C919 (2014)
The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has a contract with Moog for the High Lift System on the C919, COMAC’s new narrow body commercial transport. The Moog high lift system includes all flap and slat actuation, pilot interfaces, electronic controls, power drive units, wing tip brakes, gearboxes and miscellaneous components.The control laws are being certified using Model based test techniques, automated review tools and automated test case generators.

Boeing 747-8 Lateral Controls (2009)
On the 747-8, Boeing selected Moog to provide the Lateral Control Electronics for the fly-by-wire ailerons and spoilers on the aircraft's new aerodynamic wing. The Lateral Control Electronics feature a dual triplex dissimilar architecture. It hosts the flight control laws for the fly-by-wire wing and includes a number of enhanced features to improve flight performance, extend aircraft structural life and provide improved fault tolerance.

SARAS Autopilot (2008)
The AFCS provides for Flight Director Guidance function involving a three axis limited authority autopilot with pitch auto trim function. It features13; CAT II approach capability and Control Wheel Steering (CWS). The architecture is fail-safe and extendable to a dual-dual configuration. The autopilot actuators are all electric smart brushless DC motors which engage with the all-mechanical reversible Primary Flight Control System in parallel via individual geared clutches.

Indian LCA Flight Controls (1995)
The Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) is a single engine, tailless delta wing supersonic fighter aircraft, which is designed to be aerodynamically unstable in the longitudinal axis. In order to stabilize the airframe and achieve the desired performance over the entire flight envelope, the aircraft is equipped with a quad-redundant full-authority fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control system (FCS).

Akash system (DRDO) (1988)
In Defence Research & Development Laboratory, Hyderabad, pioneering work on optimal estimation and guidance was taken up by Prof I G Sharma and Dr K N Swamy in MAMTHA and PRAGNA. I worked on these projects involving optimal control laws for missile guidance.
